Despite efforts to improve waste management, challenges persist due to a lack of community understanding. The government has introduced facilities like a waste bank to reduce careless waste disposal. Using a qualitative descriptive method with purposive sampling, the research identifies four roles: stabilizer (implementing environmental programs), innovator (lacking in providing training), modernizer (establishing a waste bank), and pioneer (promoting independent waste sorting). Key challenges include community reluctance to segregate waste and inadequate waste collection facilities. The study underscores the need for better education and infrastructure to enhance waste management practices.

Highlights:

Government Roles: Stabilizer, innovator, modernizer, and pioneer in waste management.

Challenges: Community reluctance and inadequate waste facilities.

Solutions: Enhanced education and infrastructure for better waste management.

Keywords: Waste management, Village government, Community engagement, Environmental policy, Sruni Village
Ainun Mustafia Hendra Sukmana Copyright (c) 2024 Ainun Mustafia, Hendra Sukmana https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2024-05-21 2024-05-21 25 3 10.21070/ijppr.v25i3.1390 10.21070/ijppr.v25i3.1390 10.21070/ijppr.v25i3.1390 Investigating Community Problems Inside Indonesian National Parks: From Overview to Case Study at Sukamade Geoforest Coastal Area https://ijppr.umsida.ac.id/index.php/ijppr/article/view/1375
This study explores the challenges encountered by residents within Indonesian national parks, focusing specifically on the local communities in the Sukamade Geoforest Coastal area of Meru Betiri National Park. Despite the recognized need for regional government and community involvement in park management, this research identifies a significant gap in effective community empowerment and management practices. Employing qualitative descriptive methods, including observations, interviews, and literature reviews, the study analyzes data using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana interactive method, which includes data condensation, display, and verification. The findings reveal multifaceted issues faced by the Sukamade community, ranging from administrative and legal challenges to socio-cultural and environmental awareness problems. These results underline the necessity of integrating local communities into national park management to enhance environmental conservation efforts and community welfare, suggesting a reevaluation of current governance frameworks to address these complexities.

Highlights:

Lack of community empowerment hampers park management.

Challenges include administrative, legal, socio-cultural, and environmental issues.

Integrated management involving local communities is vital.

Keywords: Indonesian National Parks, Community Involvement, Challenges, Multifaceted Issues
Theresia Octastefani Hurng-Jyuhn Wang Copyright (c) 2024 Theresia Octastefani, Hurng-Jyuhn Wang https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2024-06-04 2024-06-04 25 3 10.21070/ijppr.v25i3.1375 10.21070/ijppr.v25i3.1375 10.21070/ijppr.v25i3.1375 Nuclear Energy's Environmental Imperatives A Global Perspective https://ijppr.umsida.ac.id/index.php/ijppr/article/view/1399
This study explores the requirements and prospects of utilizing nuclear energy amid the global energy crisis, focusing on environmental considerations, regulatory frameworks, and sustainable deployment strategies. This study examines the PAN party's use of the viral TikTok song "PAN 12" to engage students, using Davidoff’s public perception theory. Employing a qualitative descriptive method with six student informants from Sidoarjo, the research reveals mixed perceptions: some find the content engaging, while others criticize it for lacking substantive political content. The findings highlight that while TikTok can reach a wider audience and enable direct interaction with voters, it risks prioritizing popularity over political substance. Therefore, the PAN party should address criticisms with transparency and substantial communication to enhance understanding of their political goals.

Highlights:

TikTok engages a wider audience for political campaigns.

"PAN 12" song evokes mixed reactions from students.

Balance popularity with substantive communication to address criticisms.

Keywords: Social Media, TikTok, Political Campaigns, Public Perception, Student Engagement
Indah Kartika Devi Kukuh Sinduwiatmo Copyright (c) 2024 Indah Kartika Devi, Kukuh Sinduwiatmo https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2024-05-19 2024-05-19 25 3 10.21070/ijppr.v25i3.1379 10.21070/ijppr.v25i3.1379 10.21070/ijppr.v25i3.1379 Transforming Food Security for Economic Independence in Indonesia https://ijppr.umsida.ac.id/index.php/ijppr/article/view/1384
Food security, crucial for ensuring access to sufficient, nutritious food, is a key government focus. This study examines the food security program in Watutulis Village, Prambon District, aimed at achieving economic independence. Data were gathered through interviews, observation, and documentation from village heads, posyandu cadres, midwives, and mothers of toddlers. Utilizing Lawrence Green's framework, the findings reveal that stunting prevention is hindered by limited parental knowledge (Predisposing Factors), inadequate health facilities (Enabling Factors), and low community awareness (Reinforcing Factors). Edwards III's theory on communication and bureaucratic structure. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the research utilizes primary data from field surveys and interviews, and secondary data from official sources. The findings show that 14 out of 18 sub-districts successfully implemented these policies, leading to improved and diverse food consumption patterns as measured by the Food Hope Pattern (PPH) score. Effective communication, adequate resources, strong commitment, and structured bureaucracy were key to this success.
