https://ijppr.umsida.ac.id/index.php/ijppr/article/view/1390

This study examines the role of the Sruni Village Government in waste management in Gedangan District. Despite efforts to improve waste management, challenges persist due to a lack of community understanding. The government has introduced facilities like a waste bank to reduce careless waste disposal. Using a qualitative descriptive method with purposive sampling, the research identifies four roles: stabilizer (implementing environmental programs), innovator (lacking in providing training), modernizer (establishing a waste bank), and pioneer (promoting independent waste sorting). Key challenges include community reluctance to segregate waste and inadequate waste collection facilities. The study underscores the need for better education and infrastructure to enhance waste management practices.

Highlights:

Government Roles: Stabilizer, innovator, modernizer, and pioneer in waste management.

Challenges: Community reluctance and inadequate waste facilities.

Solutions: Enhanced education and infrastructure for better waste management.

Keywords: Waste management, Village government, Community engagement, Environmental policy, Sruni Village
Ainun Mustafia, Hendra Sukmana

https://ijppr.umsida.ac.id/index.php/ijppr/article/view/1379

In the digital era, social media platforms like TikTok are increasingly used for political campaigns. This study examines the PAN party's use of the viral TikTok song "PAN 12" to engage students, using Davidoff’s public perception theory. Employing a qualitative descriptive method with six student informants from Sidoarjo, the research reveals mixed perceptions: some find the content engaging, while others criticize it for lacking substantive political content. The findings highlight that while TikTok can reach a wider audience and enable direct interaction with voters, it risks prioritizing popularity over political substance. Therefore, the PAN party should address criticisms with transparency and substantial communication to enhance understanding of their political goals.

Highlights:

TikTok engages a wider audience for political campaigns.

"PAN 12" song evokes mixed reactions from students.

Balance popularity with substantive communication to address criticisms.

Keywords: Social Media, TikTok, Political Campaigns, Public Perception, Student Engagement
Indah Kartika Devi, Kukuh Sinduwiatmo

https://ijppr.umsida.ac.id/index.php/ijppr/article/view/1408

Effective management of official letters is crucial for village governance, yet many villages face challenges in this area. Specific Background: Tambak Kalisogo Village in Jabon District, Sidoarjo Regency, implemented the E-Buddy application to address these challenges. Knowledge Gap: While digital solutions like E-Buddy promise efficiency, their practical implementation in village administration is not well-documented. Aims: This study aims to describe and assess the implementation of the E-Buddy application in managing official letters within the Tambak Kalisogo Village Government using a descriptive qualitative method. Results: The study utilized purposive sampling, involving key informants such as the village head, village secretary, and the head of the service section responsible for E-Buddy. Findings indicate that communication within the application was generally effective; however, the transmission was one-directional, focusing solely on communication from the village head to the E-Buddy operator instead of all users. Resource availability, including facilities and infrastructure, was deemed sufficient to support E-Buddy's optimal implementation. However, issues such as margin-setting difficulties and application errors posed challenges. The disposition indicator was aligned with the management of incoming letters, while the bureaucratic structure demonstrated adequate standard operating procedures. Novelty: This study highlights specific implementation challenges, such as margin-setting difficulties and delayed notifications, that need attention from service providers. Implications: The findings suggest the need for improved communication channels and technical support within E-Buddy to enhance official letter management at the village level, with the Sidoarjo Regency Government's support in addressing these obstacles.

Highlights:

Communication Gap: One-directional communication limits effective use of E-Buddy among village officials.

Technical Challenges: Margin-setting and application errors hinder optimal letter management.

Resource Adequacy: Sufficient facilities support implementation, but improvements in technical support are needed.

Keywords: Village Governance, E-Buddy Application, Official Letter Management, Digital Solutions, Implementation Challenges.

Riris Dwi Rahmawati, Ilmi Usrotin Choiriyah

https://ijppr.umsida.ac.id/index.php/ijppr/article/view/1409

The Specific background shows that although many E-Government applications have been implemented, the effectiveness of the next generation social welfare information system (SIKS-NG) in processing poverty data at the village level is still poorly understood. Knowledge gap raises questions about how SIKS-NG can be optimized to meet social welfare objectives. The aim of this study is to evaluate the performance of SIKS-NG as a poverty data processing application and identify the challenges faced in its implementation. Results of the study show that accuracy in determining program targets, lack of effective socialization, and inadequate monitoring are obstacles to the optimization of SIKS-NG. The novelty of this study lies in the descriptive qualitative approach that reveals the direct experiences of stakeholders in using the application. Implications of these findings suggest the need for improvements in program socialization and monitoring so that SIKS-NG can function optimally and provide maximum benefits to the community in managing poverty data and improving public services in the field of social welfare.

Highlights:

Assessing the effectiveness of SIKS-NG in poverty data management.

Highlighting issues with accuracy, socialization, and monitoring.

Gathering direct experiences from users to inform improvements.

Keywords: E-Government, SIKS-NG, Poverty Data, Social Welfare, Implementation Challenges
Melly Nia Dwi Aprilia, Ilmi Usrotin Choiriyah

https://ijppr.umsida.ac.id/index.php/ijppr/article/view/1413

General Background: Food security is a critical issue in rural areas, especially in developing countries, where sustainable agricultural practices and government support play a vital role in ensuring a stable food supply. Specific Background: In Sumorame Village, Candi District, Sidoarjo Regency, the local government has implemented a food security program aimed at improving agricultural productivity and community welfare. Knowledge Gap: Despite the program's significance, little is known about the specific factors influencing its success, particularly in the context of rural governance and local agricultural conditions. Aims: This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of the food security program in Sumorame Village, focusing on four key factors: communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. Results: The findings reveal that communication between the village government, farmers, and community groups has been effective through targeted socialization efforts. Human resources are competent, with strong collaboration among farmer groups. Financial resources have been allocated in accordance with regulations, but physical infrastructure remains inadequate due to limited agricultural land, unfavorable geographical conditions, and suboptimal hydroponic yields. Disposition among stakeholders is positive, with high commitment observed. The bureaucratic structure has been functioning in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Novelty: This study highlights the importance of resource optimization, particularly in agricultural infrastructure, and stresses the need for improved technological integration to enhance program outcomes. Implications: The results suggest that strengthening communication and addressing physical resource limitations are crucial for improving food security program effectiveness in rural areas. This study provides valuable insights for policymakers seeking to enhance rural food security initiatives.

Highlights:

Communication is crucial for successful food security program implementation.

Infrastructure limitations present significant challenges to agricultural productivity.

Collaboration and commitment among stakeholders enhance program effectiveness.

Keywords: Food security, rural governance, agricultural infrastructure, communication, resource optimization
Muhammad Zainul Arifin, Hendra Sukmana
